Wanted Preschool Coordinator for May and June
The Preschool Coordinator will organize and run a weekly preschool group for parents and tots at the Bamfield Community School under the guidance of Catherine Thompson (BCSA).
The successful applicant must:
Have or pass a current Criminal Record Check.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Advanced qualifications, especially in an education related field (teaching, ECE) are preferable, but not required.
Applicants with the following will be given preference:
Experience with young children and with planning and executing projects for small groups.
A demonstrated history in other positions of positive leadership, reliability, initiative and teamwork.
Positive, fun and creative energy

Mardi Gras Lunch
Join the students for a fun lunch to celebrate Mardi Gras on Tuesday, February 21st.
A $5 lunch will be served at the Bamfield Community School at noon.
Bev will be making a festive spread featuring Mardi Gras Punch, Creole Chicken,
Jambalaya, Dirty Rice & Red Beans, Cajun Roasted Potatoes and dessert!

Please be advised that the mainline from Port Alberni to Bamfield will be closed for most of the day on March 10th, 2012, for bridge inspection purposes.
This closure will be located at the China Creek bridge which is near the start of the mainline at Port Alberni.
Please note that Island Timberlands will open the bridge for vehicle crossings periodically throughout the day; however, there will be lengthy wait times of over one or more hours.

Island Timberlands is planning to harvest in this area below the tracks in the fall of 2012, so we need to act quickly and show them
just how important this recreational area is for the people and businesses of Port Alberni.
Please join us on a community hike up to the Old Forestry Lookout to show Island Timberlands how many of us appreciate and use
this trail system.

The Bamfield Community School Association is looking for donation items to include in our raffle and silent auction for this years Oysters, Authors & Ale. We would like to feature various items or services donated by individuals and businesses. All monies raised from the silent auction and half of all ticket sales from the event will go towards future literacy initiatives and programs and will ensure the continued support of literacy in our community.
